baby girl #2 u/s pics

everyone likes ultrasound pictures- right? well- minus the somewhat creepy 3D ones. however you'll have to suffer through a few of those- it's for documentation sake!

baby #2 update

(i'll post the u/s pics after i get home & scan them!)

what we saw last time: 04/15

- gestational sac (measuring at 5 weeks 1 day)
- yolk sac
- implantation bleed (subchorionic hematoma)

what we saw this time: 04/22

- gestational sac
- yolk sac
- baby (measuring @ 6 weeks 1 day)
- heartbeat @ 124 bpm
- smaller implantation bleed (subchorionic hematoma)

so you know what that means? it mean yay! i can finally relax (but only a little because i'm freaking paranoid- der) the subchorionic hematoma explains the small amount of reddish/brown blood that i've been seeing for the past week. and it will most likely continue until the SCH bleeds out or re-absorbs.

my OB said things look "fantastic" and that i shouldn't worry about the SCH considering the awesome growth & very strong heartbeat (for such a young babe)

so, while we're definately not out of the woods- i feel much better! i was so freaking terrified that we weren't going to see anything this time. i had that sickly feeling (you know, when your bowels just drop) but felt immediate relief when she stuck the wand in & zoomed up. and when i saw the flickering heartbeat ::swoon::
i seriously don't know if there is anything better than seeing that. oy.

the hubs came along this time, and once he got over his shock at the size of the u/s wand ("omg- do they stick that all the way in you?!!?") i could see him smiling away.
here's to 9 more months of "i told you so!"
this is the one situation where i can't begrudge him for it.

i've got a nurse appt scheduled for 05/11 & my first "real" Ob appt on 05/19. how very surreal.
the girl that checked me out was like, "ummm, weren't you just here and pregnant like, a few months ago?"
why yes, yes i was sweetie.

thanks to all for their well wishes & prayers (you're totally allowed to keep praying- i'm cool with that ;)

p.s. aaaand- today is the last day to enter the Princess Couture Designs giveaway! i'll announce the winner in the early AM! thanks for playing :)

my big announcement

so you've all been waiting ever so patiently- so i'll come right out with it...after i tell you a few things:

1. alex cut her first tooth! this is a cause for celebration! we had a miserable few days- but now it's there. all sharp & loverly.
2. don't forget to enter the canvaspress giveaway- it's kick ass & it ends tomorrow!
3. ...ok that's it. dun dun dun.

ok so i drew you a picture (because apparently i think i'm good at it):

that's right. herrro prease bebe bird #2!!!

wants the deets? ok here goes:

- LMP: 03/05
- ovulation: 03/19-21 (not 100% on which day)
- maritals occur: 03/19
- i wait for my period but it doesn't come: wtf?!
- decide to pee on $10 because this is whack: 04/05
- fall over in bathroom stall because pee stick = 2 lines
- call OB & insist on a blood test: 04/05
- go in for said blood test: 04/06
- get told blood test #'s = awesome & i'm all set. lame- i need more.
- call RE for another blood test: 04/06
- go in for said blood tests: 04/07 & 04/09
here are BETA results:
04/06: 442.6
04/07: 687 p4: 21.16
04/09: 1,426

- numbers = super awesome. schedule 1st u/s for 04/16
- tries to act like a normal human being: 04/09-04/15
- goes pee, wipes, sees blood, has coronary: 04/15
- OB says "come in today for u/s": 04/15
- first u/s shows the following:
5 weeks 1 day gestational sack
yolk sac
IN MY UTERUS (blocked tubes + history of ectopic = this is amzing news)
implantation bleed (booooooo)

- talk with OB = this:
based on my LMP 5 weeks 1 day = A-Ok (i thought i was 5 weeks 6 days but this is based on my LPM, not my actual ovulation date which noone knows besides God)

implantation bleed (ie: subchorionic bleed) is probably the reason for my bleeding & since it's small i should have nothing to worry about (ie: implantation bleed looks like a-freaking-nother sack so i was scurred that there were 2 bebes in my ute)

we only saw a yolk sac & not the bebe because i'm 5 weeks 1 day & this is more than normal (whew)

OB is "cautiously optimistic" so i should be too.
i was sent home with instruction to take it easy, keep my feet up (ok), no maritals, no martial arts (damn), come in next thursday for another u/s (insert me = crazy person for the next week)

(oh, did i forget to mention that i've known i was ku for 11 days and i still haven't told the hubs ::GASP::)

so i went back to work (booo)- finished work & picked up alex- did mom things- put alex to bed- waited for the hubs- told him in some awesome way (ok, not really)- told him the whole story (omg i'm SO annoying when i tell stories)- watched him dance around & then pout when he realized that he'd have to finish the room downstairs & spend money- boooo- ate grilled cheese + tomato soup + watched the office- went to bed.

the end!

get all that? so yeah. if all goes well at next week's appt (prayers said, fingers crossed, goats sacrificed...what?) then i'll be due around Dec 15th or so. which = perfect because my next available maternity leave starts on Dec 13th (hello perfect timing)

crazy? yeah. why? because this happened without any help whatsoever. we were all set to have an FET in May so this is definately a shock. a good shock! besides the fact that it's simply awesome, it also saves us about $5k. yeah. word.

hmmm- so if you'd like to say prayers & all that jazz- you're more than welcome & i thank you in advance. i'll be so happy if this works out!!!! and if it doesn't (it sucks to say but i have to keep a level head) that'll blow but i'll be ok.

suprise ultrasound

i was quite pleased yesterday when my OB got a weird look on her face after listening to alex's heartbeat & feeling for her head- why you ask? because she was SO sure she was head down but then...wait...what? maybe she's not?

well what ever shall we do now? ahhh, ultrasound! wooooopie!
so we made our way to the u/s room & took a gander. miss alex IS still head down & quite comfy- she's also adorable and moving around like it's going out of style. so everyone was happy- except for alex who seemed rather annoyed that we were bothering her. she'll have to get used to that. anywho.

so i skipped out of my appt & off to WalMart to buy some of this "miracle" stuff:

Bio-Oil. supposedly it greatly aids in diminishing the appearance of stretch marks. this is all i need to hear- so i plunked down $18.95 for a 4.2 oz bottle (along with an addtl $2.96 for Snickers Ice Cream Bars) and hurried home to slather it on.
it smells rather nice & isn't oily in the least- so i approve. thankfully my "gifts" from mother nature aren't fierce & red looking- but they're still there. so i will dutifully apply this stuff 2 times a day for a minimum of 3 months & see where it gets me.
will i ever get a call asking me to appear clad in not but a string bikini on the cover of Self magazine? no, probably not- but still. we shall see.
the night ended with a tummy full of soup, breadsticks & dessert from the Olive Garden (muchos gracious to the husband for this)- and many newly learned survival skills from Bear Grylls.
i feel quite prepared to stay alive if i ever end up in the middle of the desert or rainforest.
...i just need to make sure i bring my Bio Oil so while i'm "surviving" i can also be "diminishing"- der.

13 weeks 2 days

so we had our NT Scan today- wooo! the lady told me to come with a full bladder & i totally didn't- i told her it was full though, and when she started the ultrasound she said "perfect"- ha, sucker. anyway.

so according to her & her measurments, everything looks good! the baby was very coopertive & stayed still when she needed him/her too. he/she did start moving near the end (hiccups & such) & then gave us a little wave- sweet. we got some great shots & he/she has a very lovely profile IMO. heh. the tech said he/she was very "sonogenic" - takes after me. der. oh yeah- heartbeat = 136 bpm. that's good she said, so- cool.

then i sent the husband on his way & got my bloodwork done. just one little vial today & then i go back on April 2nd for the 2nd half of it.

and that's that. i think brandon told his work today (because he's been chomping at the bit since day 1) but i didn't feel like it- i think i might just let people figure it out (but i'd hate to have them think i'm just getting fat- yikes) but we'll see. it's getting harder & harder to hide my diminishing waistline- meh.

we'll probably tell the rents this weekend. if i could hide it, i'd totally wait till Easter- but my short torso & lack of self control when it comes to cookies isn't going to allow that. damn me.

i think i'll make copies & frame a couple of the u/s pics & give them those- and be all like "i don't know how this happened aaaaaiiiieeeee!" lolz- nice. my parents'll be happy but they already have 4 granddaughters- the man's parent's on the other hand- yeeesh, they're gonna freak.
they want grandkids sooo bad and the b-man is the only one who's in any position to provide them with any so yeah. go us.

ok- i gots to go work- i'll post my alien baby pics laters. ciao.

7weeks 0days and 1st u/s

ok! so today was full of good news! we have 1 aaawesome heartbeat! it was so neat to see it flickering away! the baby measured at exactely 7weeks 0days which is great! the gestational sac was at 6weeks 2days which is also great- lastly the yolk sac measured at 2.3 which is good. they like to see it between 2.5 & 5.5 but she said 2.3 is very close. i have a f/u u/s with my OB in 2 weeks to make sure everything is still growing!
here is the yolk sac (little circle) & the baby (little blob)!!

here is a closer up of the baby...

and here is the heartbeat (wave lengths)! it was beating at a health 142 bpm!! woot!

and here is my first "belly" pic @ 7weeks. i think my bloat has gone down some...

i was looking a little "plumper" last week but things have settled. i can still button my pants & such, but i did purchase a Bella Band today & when i tried it on it was super!!! i got it in white- i'll have to get one in black too...hmmm.
(please excuse me looking like crap & the messy floor- i'm beyond tired & cessna had a field day ripping things up- argh)
ok- that's it! i am so overjoyed & thankful for this precious gift. it's a little surreal & it doesn't totally feel real yet- but i'm sooo happy! so is the husband! but he's a little pissy because i can talk about this to my lovely internet girls & he can't tell anyone. but we agreed on this so poo to him!
