weekends

saturday consisted of early morning errands & multiple nanny interviews- a full out busy day. so sunday needed to be simple & fun.

we started off getting dressed:

dress: gift
shoes: gift
socks: old navy

and i tortured her with picture after picture...

i tried to get pictures of alex- but she ran from me. typical.

instead, brynn decided to spit up & i put her in the onesie my best friend got the girls for Christmas:

i must admit- dresses are adorable- but on infants they seems so...difficult? they ride up & bunch up & get in the way. a simple onesie is the way to go.

i then decided my plan of attack would be getting shots of alex while she was "in the zone"- which = outside in the snow.

the husband got alex into her snowsuit while i bundled brynn up. i figured that we'd put them both on her sled & i would get the most perfect pictures of alex expressing her adoration for her sister- right?

DSC_0044-2

look at the total disdain on her face. she's like- "wtf?! MY SLED!!!"

DSC_0043

"oh.em.gee. you're still here?"

DSC_0047

"hmmm- what can i..."

DSC_0045

" GET OFF!"

DSC_0046

and daddy had to intervene. poor brynn.

DSC_0041

so i ended up with this. alex stuffing her face with snow & brynn looking like a sad, old man.

sisterly love fail.

but momma got some love!

DSC_0048

afterwards i could see that alex's loyalty was to eating snow.

DSC_0051-2

she loves me (i'm sure)- but she loves snow more.

and then it was daddy's turn:

DSC_0057

still consuming snow. worry not- twas white, not yellow.

spit up. nice.

DSC_0058

brynn's foot was touching alex. alex was pissed. "ZOMG MOM! SHE'S TOUCHING ME WITH HER FOOOOT!!!"

i got a few more shots of alex:

"alex- i think you've had enough snow..."

DSC_0070

"DON'T YOU LOOK AT ME!"

got it.

a little more playtime with daddy:

and the puppies:

and it was time to head in

amazingly she didn't fight us- i think she was drunk on snow. and brynn's face was cold- so no arguments from her either.

it's times like these that i love the snow- otherwise i could do without. for real.

Brynn is so pretty... but that's no surprise given how gorgeous Alex is and how you and your hubs look! :) speaking of which, you look amazing for having a baby not too long ago! i'm jealous of your snow. it was 48 degrees here yesterday. grr! ;)

ahhh they're beautiful. It kind of cracks me up when Alex doesn't want her sister to even touch her in the slightest.

also, liv loves eating snow too. her dad took her to this park with an ice rink and he skated around while pulling her in the sled. I didn't go, but when they got back I asked how it went. my husband's grumbled response was "all she wanted to do was eat snow"..yep sounds like her :).

They're so adorable. And I'm beyond impressed that you took the baby out -- I never had the energy or want to do that. Lazy? Oh yes!

snow. you love it or you hate it...or if you're like me, you like the pretty pictures it'll let you take then want it to dissappear forever after a day or two. yeah, that's me!
your girls are too cute, and your commentary is too funny! love.

Yes, snow is good enough for the kids to play in and then I'm over it, WAY over it!! Great family pics!! You need one extra pair of hands so the four of you can get one!

Brynn has such a pretty little face, with perfect eyebrows. Did I really just compliment a baby's eyebrows? Yes, I suppose I did. But it's true!
Looks like a fun time!!

Aboslutely loving the B&W edits in this series. Seriously, how do you do? Are you using LR for this? I must get that program loaded on my PC. Seriously, why is it taking me so long to make that a priority? Anyway - lovely photos - I envy your eye!
