things remembered

did i mention that brynn found her feet a few weeks back?

DSC_0065 DSC_0068 DSC_0069 DSC_0080 DSC_0078 DSC_0077

she likes to grab them & hold on for dear life- all the while screeching at the top of her lungs.

it's adorable. and ear piercing. and it makes for a difficult time trying to get her dressed.

the husband doesn't understand. the screeching or feet holding.

he quickly becomes confused & exasperated because he can't hear himself think & he's under the impression that he's so strong that he'll break her legs if he tries to pull them down.

delusional he is.

but i think it's cute- and it take me back to when alex was this age. how quickly i have forgotten- i see her now running around, jumping off couches & saying things like, "are you kiddin' me?!"

this is why people keep having babies. God bless you Michelle Duggar. you'll find no hate from me.

where has my baby gone? the one that could spend 20 minutes sucking on her toes & in a state of pure bliss?

she has been replaced with this wide eyed, wild hair & crazy attitude toddler that walks a fine line between being a treasure & a terror.

don't get me wrong- i love her at all time- even at her worst, she's still a treasure- but not exactly the treasure i had in mind when i sailed halfway around the world to dig it up. wait...what?

X MARKS THE SPOT! dig up & open at your own risk.

i gues what i'm saying is that i love my girls. at all ages & all stages. ...for now.

we'll see if my tune changes in about 14 years when they're crying their eyes out & screaming, "BUT MOM I LOVE HIM! YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT IT'S LIKE!!!"

and i'll just stand there thinking, "dude, ladies- you used to play with your feet. quite happily. i have proof...now, go ask your father."

I came to your blog through a friend over at "miracles come in pairs" and I always read, see the cute clothes, funny stories (that I relate to) and never comment for you. HOWEVER that changes today! I just read and saw that your daughter says "are you kidding me!?!" I have a 2 yr old son and he says the same thing. Sometimes he adds "freaking kidding me" and I get eye rolls from other parents but either way I wanted to say hello and now I can breathe easy and know not only my son says the "darndest" things! Haha.

So I'm a total sap lately, but this made me tear up! I'm watching Elliot change and grow and already thinking about the next one, lol!
Now, I'd really just like to pause Elliot where he's at.. But I'd also like him to find his toes so....
