vacation pics

i finally have 3 minutes to myself (hold the phone) so here you go- vaca pics.

we spent a week up at York Beach- right on Long Sands-  & it was amazing.

exhausting, but amazing.

it was us, the dogs, friends of ours & their dog. our dogs got themselves sent home after the 1st day (for barking at anyone & everyone who decided to walk by & breath) but be pleaded with the guy who owned the place to let us keep our friend's puppy. 

he grudgingly consented & we spent the next 5 days rescuing EVERYTHING from his puppy jaws & trying to tire him out so he wouldn't bark at 6 am every morning. the girls loved him...until he stole their snacks & then they delighted in telling him no.

our dogs were shipped off to my in law's for the week & they had a fab time with my in law's dog. so everyone won.

prepare yourselves for the overload:

York's Wild Kingdom, the boardwalk, Goldenrod, the beach, the playground, Brown's Ice Cream, lobster rolls, Target (duh), the mall (you guys- it was like 95 one day), friends, dogs, portable dvd players (yesss), bunk beds, Harry Potter, sunscreen, foooood, booze, lots of sand & etc etc etc

the plan is to make this an annual thing. i want the girls to look forward to a week or 2 at the beach every summer, something we didn't have growing up.

now to get our hands on a rental every year- wish us luck.

i know. i won't even try to explain myself.

...ok- yes i will.

...but i got sick. & stuff. i swear. seriously- it felt like i was swallowing knives for like a week. i should actually win an award for surviving.
but then that award would probably be taken away for Googling "sore throat for 5 days" & immediately thinking i had "throat cancer or aids" which led me to schedule an Urgent Care exam where the nice old man doctor basically told me to suck it up.

my life. be jealous.

but i'm better now. & i'm sitting at work laughing/crying my eyes out because i just read this: The fart that (almost) altered my destiny

you guys. i might have to Google "can you die from laughing?" because i think i might.
go read. now. & forgive me for another week of no posting/breaking promises.
