i'm behind. on updates, pictures, general everything, etc etc. this is what happens when you're on vacation.
so i'll just dive right in with some Steppin' Out pictures:
11/24
alex
hat: Target
sweater: Cherokee (Target)
shirt: Cherokee (Target)
skirt: Target
tights: gift (H&M)
shoes: Target
me
jacket: Vintage (thrifted)
sweatshirt: Target
shirt: dElIA*s
sweats: Derek Heart
boots: Rocket Dog
11/23
sweater: Cherokee (Target)
pants: gift
shoes: Target
11/25 (Thanksgiving Outfit)
dress: babyGap (size 3-6 months!!!)
tights: Target
shoes: Amimoc
she ended up with a sweater & her shoes to actually leave the house:
sweater: Cherokee (Target)
shoes: Target
11/27
skirt: babyGap (3-6 months!!!)
sweater: Cherokee (Target)
shirt: Cherokee (Target)
leggings: BabyLegs
shoes: Amimoc
and i think that sums up the outfits i actually captured- she obviously got dressed on a daily basis- but i'm only human & i can only document so much.
here's the rest of her:
(those tights- they slay me)
and at one point this week, my child randomly "noticed" the swing:
she insisted on getting in & happily swung for almost an hour- and then did this:
yeah- conked out for an hour & a half. then she woke up, i asked her if she wanted to get out & she said "No!" swing swing swing.
then about 20 min later she decided that she was "All done!"
however, she hasn't asked to get back in since. so fingers crossed that it was a 1 time deal & she won't try to remove her sister from the swing in the near future.
thursday = Thanksgiving & the need for a sweet dress:
imagine my shock when i pulled this from the depths of her closet & tried it on her...and it FIT! people, this dress = 3-6 months!
i think babyGap runs a bit large, but damn- she's 14 months old!
i was pleased though- saved me some money & she finally got to wear it.
hooray!
then on saturday i decided to try another 3-6 month article of clothing:
another babyGap find- and the skirt fit. incredible.
and there you have it- picture overload.
let's see if i can sum up the rest of the week:
- vacation = hooray
- the Christmas Tree = UP & DECORATED!
- the home = DECORATED (this is big since i didn't deco for fall at all. shame on me)
- Buy Buy Baby = purchased bouncer (which i looove)
- husband = put together alex's new dresser (which i also love) and now we wait for the crib (in today?)
- husband & father in law = 97% done with alex's new room. walls are painted & the floor is in. just need the trim & some touch-ups (they promised to be done this coming weekend)
- Target = purchased rug for alex's floor. it's white & fluffy & i love it.
- Amazon = addtl AngelCare Monitor & alex's crib sheets purchased
- Nordstrom = alex's snowsuit & winter boots purchased
- the mall & various stores = almost done Christmas shopping (thank God for gift cards)
- Amazon = delivered the husband's b-day present which i allowed him to open early: Bradley 4 Rack Digital Smoker (i may have created a monster. he is now consumed with finding things he can smoke. dear God.)
aaand- there's more but Lord knows i can't recall everything.
this is my last week of work so i'll be wrapping things up & assigning clients out.
i'm stoked, nervous, exited, tired, slow, large, feeling good, ready to go, not quite ready- you know. a little bit of everything.
i'm praying this kid stays in until at least Dec 10th (my due date). that'll give me this week to work, next week to use up vacation time & then my short term & FMLA kicks in. almost perfection.
so i'm going to ignore the increased pelvic pressure & such i've been feeling & pray pray pray that she stays comfy (inside) for another 2 weeks. that way i'll have everything done (i think) room, house, car, work, family, stuff, etc etc wise.
i hope everyone had a wonderfull Thanskgiving & i promise to try & catch up on blogs & such. & such & such & such!

vacation
it's vacation week in our house. which means minimal message boards, minimal blogging, minimal checking mail, minimal internet- you get the idea.
instead we'll be out & about, running errands, picking up needed things, spending money, Christmas shopping, eating, finishing up a little girl's big girl room- etc etc.
however i don't want to neglect- so let's see- saturday:
shirt: Cherokee (Target)
sweater: Cherokee (Target)
leggings: gift
socks: Baby Legs
shoes: Target
where alex rode the carousel...with a bit of fear & trepidation, so i think we'll hold off on doing that again for awhile.
then we recovered our sanity via Starbucks:
we were out late- so alex crashed when we got home- but still managed to get up around 12:30am. i dragged her to bed & thankfully she went back down.
sunday morning came at a fairly reasonable hour- 7am. so we decided breakfast out was in order:
the husband has a slight iHop obsession, so that's where we found ourselves.
afterwards we made some time for Target & a few other errands. and then we headed home. for the rest of the day. glorious!
dress: babyGap
tights: Old Navy
shoes: Target
it was cooooold outside- so getting in & staying in = perfect.
alex was an almost angel (ie: minimal whining) & we had an awesome just us 3 day.
the husband finished painting alex's room (hooray) and i did a crapload of newborn laundry. folding the tiniest clothing ever definitely takes me back...and slightly terrifies me.
i loaded the drawers with baby clothes & gave my, not a baby anymore, toddler a bath.
warm jams (jammies) & a tummy full of milk = an exhausted alex.
to bed- only to awaken around 1:30 am. i brought her to bed where she proceeded to keep me up until 3:30 or so. ::side eye::
thankfully she slept until 8 am.
a lazy morning, a few more errands & lunch, followed by the rest of the day at home.
and now i sit here watching my kid lose her mind over Kai-Lan & Yo Gabba Gabba.
...she's also whining. which means "i'm tired"- perhaps she'll sleep till a Godly hour tonight, eh?

1:07- mom gets up- sends dad back to bed- gets settled on couch- holds screaming alex & offers milk
1:10- alex is "all done" with milk- but not with screaming & crying & kicking & squirming
1:15- alex wants "elmo?" mom says yes to elmo, no to playing. alex is pissed- hates mom

3:50- dead arm comes alive. mom wishes it were dead again- omg.
3:55-4:15- mom shuffles alex off of her person & moves like a sloth in order to keep from waking her & facing her wrath
4:20- mom gets up. gets dressed. gets things ready. curses the clock.
4:30-4:50: dad gets up. dogs get up. alex pitches a fit while mom dresses her. alex falls back asleep. mom is tired. mom's ass hurts. stupid cat starts yowling- mom tells the cat to stop being fat.
4:55- mom hauls sleeping alex to the car- buckles her in- shushes her back to sleep- gets in the front- drives blearily to her mom's
5:30- arrive at mom's. alex awakens- she's a delight, like the effing sunshine.
6:00- mom heads to work- arrives- down OJ & cereal. curses the clock.
7:00- current- omg.
i'm guessing last night's drama can be blamed on teeth or an upset tummy. i really have no idea which. but seriously- omg.

36 week stats
OB Appt today @ 36 weeks & 4 days
- 36 weeks 4 days
- belly measured @ 36 1/2 weeks
- 152 lbs
- excellent BP
- heartbeat: 150's bpm
- no swelling
- baby#2 is still head down
we're down to weekly appts now. so i'll trek back next week with alex in tow (thanks to a week off) and see where we're at once again. i feel pretty good- say for one thing:
my coccyx.
it feels like i got kicked by a horse. like, directly in my tailbone. the fact that i have no access to any horses is besides the point- i'm still pretty sure that's what happened without me realizing it.
we're talking about a constant state of sore ass.
i didn't have this with alex. i dislike it. it's mainly when i'm sitting, lying down or getting up.
hmmm- so yeah- all the time. because that's all i do.
but it's ok- it's a small price to pay for the end reward. i remind myself of this every time i watch baby girl's foot slide across my belly.
who cares that it takes approx 3 minutes for me to get up from my chair- and who cares that i clutch my derriere whilst doing so? not i. ...well i mind a little- but like i said- totally worth it.
moving on:
i'm shocked i don't weigh more- you should see me eat. it's probably abominable at times (in regards to carbs mostly).
like next week? Thanksgiving? yeah- let's not even think about how much food i'll attempt to consume.
don't get me wrong- my days aren't spent stuffing my gullet- but i do my fair share.
and i'll leave you with these 2 pictures of baby girl #1. this should help you stop thinking about my ass & food consumption- it'll also prove that alex isn't happy 100% of the time.
in fact- in the early AM she is just like her father- miserable. why am i the only one full of cheer at 6 am? why?

warm weekend
this weekend was unseasonably warm.
warm enough that alex was able to go sans a sweatshirt on saturday.
sunday was a little colder- but still, no layers needed.
so we took full advantage & spent several hours outdoors:
sweatshirt: gift
pants: i made them via a pair of circo leggings & some reverse applique
socks: Baby Legs
shoes: Target
onesie: Crowsmack (via etsy)
alex had a blast plowing through the leaves, watching the chickens & chasing the puppies- she was in her own little heaven:
i don't think she always knows what to make of the ladies. their antics humor her- but then she stares at them like- wtf?! and she definately doesn't understand that fingers in cage = pecking.
eventually she loses interest & spots dadda in the shed- so she "runs" (she tries, bless her heart)over:
LEAVES!
and as i stated before, after an afternoon nap we were back outside, with no long sleeves required:
onesie: Crowsmack (via etsy)
and after tons of fun- a pit stop was needed:
this kid'll do anything to drink out of a straw. i kid you not.
in fact- if she's sees a complete stranger with a beverage that includes a straw- she'll start saying & signing for "more" ...slightly awkward.
eventually we made our way inside- to sleep. she wasn't pleased, but we can't live outdoors child.
all in all it was a wonderfully relaxing weekend- in fact, i spent the entire thing in yoga pants- i even ran errands in them. is that a no-no?
i got about 20 looks of pity as i hauled around my toddler & my gigantic belly.
"oh my!"
"when are you due dear?"
"you poor thing!"
"you look done. simply done."
and my favorite:
"mommy- that lady has a fat tummy!!!"
"oh my GOD connor, she's not fat, she has a baby in her tummy!"
"oh...why? how come? what is the baby doing in there?"
"oh my GOD connor!! we're not having this conversation right now!!!"
children are precious- yes?
