31 weeks 5 days

OB Appt yesterday @ 31 weeks 4 days

- 31 weeks 4 days (they have me listed @ 30 weeks 4 days)
- belly measured @ 32 weeks
- 147 lbs
- excellent BP
- heartbeat: 130's bpm
- no swelling
- baby#2 is head down

so all is well. the only thing that annoys me is the fact that they have me listed as a week behind. the OB was like , "oh, you're measuring a bit large at 32 weeks!"

um- not so much. i'm 31 weeks 4 days- so i'm actually measuring pretty spot on. duh.
i'm going to insist they change it up @ my next appt in 2 weeks. this is silly- plus, i want a more exact date before i deliver.

anyway- i'm pleased that this kid is head down already. hopefully she stays that way.

here are some belly pics from this past friday (31 weeks):

as you can see- alex was NOT a happy camper that morning.

still no maternity wear- but FYI those skinny cords would NOT zip up. my rarely used Bella Band came in handy that day.

now- let's discuss something that is currently annoying me: alex's new bedroom.
it is currently in a VERY non-livable state. it's where we housed the chickens for their first 6 weeks of life & so it needs all of the following:

- a thorough cleaning
- a floor
- paint
- ...everything else

basically- it needs to be started on ASAP-and guess who can't do any of those things (minus the cleaning, which i can't do until he clears out the room for me)? me.
but guess who can? right, the husband.
but guess who gets an attitude every time i bring it up? right again, the husband.

i get that he's tired & wants to relax- but this is life. and it has to get done. and he has less than 8 weeks to do so. in fact, he has about 6. and everyday he has less & less time.

i don't want it to get done at the last minute because i don't want to push alex into her new room with no time to adjust. it's not fair to her. no matter how awesome her room is (and it's gonna be pretty awesome)

so yeah. i'm going to take matters into my own hands & ask my father in law (who will be assisting the husband with this project) to call him this weekend. my FIL is a go go go kind of guy. once he starts- he doesn't stop. like literally, you have to shut off his power tools & drag him away. i love it!
so that's my plan.

will the husband probably be annoyed with me? yes- but i don't care.
he works 12 hours a day. i work 9. i also carry around another human being & chase around a miniature person.
i cook, clean, do laundry, stuff diapers, run errands, take care of animals, put lunches together & do life in general- so yeah. i'm just as tired as he is. but it still has to get done.

the husband isn't lazy by any means.

...well, in regards to putting his clothing in the hamper, wiping his beard hair off of the bathroom counter, courtesy flushing, flossing & rinsing off his dishes- yeah, he's pretty lazy.

but with housework stuff- he's not. but he usually needs me to annoy the shit out of him before he actually gets started. so i'm going to do what i do best. be really really annoying until it gets done. the fact that it's football season doesn't help my cause- but it's ok. i can do it.

and there you go. let's all cross our fingers that my most annoying side will really shine through.

pumpkin pickin'

considering my obsession with fall, you'd think our home would be filled with pumpkins by now.
maybe one on the porch- one on the front steps- and perhaps a few small ones placed in random spots around the house.

but alas- this is not the case. i've been cheap & lazy- so my house has remained somewhat undecorated.
so this weekend i decide to remedy that situation by dragging my family out to pick pumpkins. well i suppose we didn't actually "pick" a pumpkin- rather we picked "out" an already picked pumpkin.
much easier.

the original plan was to buy a bunch of pumpkins- because pumpkins are colorful & fun! but considering how much the charming little Farmer's Market charges for pumpkins- we wound up buying 1 big pumpkin & 1 small pumpkin for inside.

but pictures are priceless- and so i guess paying $13 for 1 pumpkin was worth it:

gah! she's so cute. she was in LOVE with the pumpkins. in fact, she tried to eat the small one we bought. she started licking it & then biting it. i tried to explain that pumpkin doesn't = apple but to no avail.

i demanded the husband take a picture of alex & myself. we've already been over his inability to actually take a good picture- so this is what we ended up with:

a bit blurry & out of focus- with a face full of sun for me- but you get the idea.

after we purchased our pumpkins & some apples (omg i made apple crisp) we headed off, in a haze of pumpkin happiness, to buy out the husband's lease on his truck.

this is when my love for pumpkins started to sour a bit.

the stupid town that we had to go to in order to buy his stupid truck was having their stupid pumpkin festival with meant we sat in stupid traffic for a freaking eternity. stupid.

so i'm sitting in the back of the truck with a VERY cranky child who is pissed because i won't let her eat the damn pumpkin. then she spots the apples & DEMANDS i give her one. so i have to watch her like a damn hawk because apples = choking. there's no way around it.

then she gets pissed & throws the apple & starts SCREACHING. it's getting hot & stuffy and the adorable red pea coat, that i was so eager to put on her, is causing some major overheating.
not to mention i'm stuck in the back with my own stuffy coat, a bag of apples, pumpkins, a screaming kid & a HUGE ASS TARP THAT I ASKED THE HUSBAND TO TAKE OUT OF HIS DAMN TRUCK LIKE 2 WEEKS AGO!

yeah- pumpkins suck.

anyway- we finally made it to the car place only to be told that he would have to come back monday cause they were blah blah blah blah. God only knows. whatever. fine.
i open the side door to get back in & one of the stupid pumpkins falls out. wtf?! thankfully it only fell on the stem- but now the stem is all weepy with pumpkin stem juice (or whatever)- annoying.

we finally get home where i strip my child & myself & put on some comfy clothing. i then declare that we will spend the rest of the day at home in a state of relaxation. amen.

...30 minutes later i realize that i need a bunch of crap from Wal Mart & that my "stay home & relax" declaration was a mute point. suck.

after some procrastination, i dragged myself (and alex) out to Wal Mart & picked up our much needed items (apparently a box of crackers with Elmo on them are "much needed")
and when i pulled into the driveway i noticed that the husband has placed the pumpkin on our front steps.

i REALLY wanted to kick it & watch it roll away. in fact, i could feel myself being satisfied with doing so & i'm pretty sure some sort of sadistic smile was flitting across my face.

...but then i remembered that we dropped $13 on that effing thing & i let it be.
stupid pumpkin.

this was after the fair- i swear i looked skinnier before hand.

still no maternity clothes- regular sized Small leggings & shirt.

i'm in love with that tunic- i got it @ Target for like $28 (which is way more than i wanted to spend- but i put it on & it was just so comfy) One Star or something.

fun at the fair

this weekend = the fair.

so we spent a solid 5 1/2 hours milling about with the rest of new england. i am pleased to announce that i didn't gain 20lbs because frankly, i forgot to eat.

i'd be like- "oh- i want that!" then i'd get distracted & too lazy to go back & find it. so blah blah. i did have my fried twinkie though. so no worries.

anywho- alex had a blast. she only tolerated the stroller for a couple hours & then insisted on being held or "walking". thankfully the in-laws met up with us so she got her wish.
she got to pet animals & eat crappy food & drink a slush (a highlight of her day) & wave at people & look at rides & etc etc etc.

she did pretty well & only started tweaking when i tried to make her lay down for a nap (FAIL) she eventually fell asleep sitting up in her stroller- just as we were about to leave. so we stayed a liiittle while longer & she promptly woke up when we put her in the car...and stayed awake the rest of the day...and night. omg- horrible.

that night was God aweful. she was so wired & her teeth hurt & i think she was still getting over all her shots- gah. she wsa up & down & all around & she randomly pooped at like 3am- wtf?! and she was in our bed, then her crib, then the glider.

horrid. but she felt much better on sunday (thank God) so she wasn't the beast i was expecting.
ok- now, pictures:

- we started off with some llamas or alpacas or whatever:

they were very cute & i would like one thank you very much

- then we headed over to the maple shack, blacksmith, tractor crap & the ZOO!

fun fun. then we had to hit the bathrooms & let mamma sit down for a minute

- and then she demanded to "walk"- so off she went with dadda & grams

- but then she spotted huge ass cows- and indicate that she'd rather be carried thank you very much!

- and finally- crash

DSC_0166
DSC_0167

and then we left. i must admit, i was happy to leave. i love the fair but jeeze. people are rude & pushy & they crowd & kids run amuck & blaaah.
i was a little sad that i didn't eat more- but i guess it's for the best.

- once we got home she was in pretty good spirits (even though i could tell she was exhausted)- we bought a sheepskin & she loves to just sit on it & play

she is legit obsessed with that bubble toy. i think you're supposed to use it in the bathtub, but the living room will have to suffice.

then the night from hell began. i seriously don't know how mom's & dad's with "bad sleepers" do it. i mean, my GOD! she went down super easy- but from 9:45pm she was up & down & i was freaking TIRED! and Lord knows the husband isn't going to get up, so it was all me.

thankfully she got a couple hours in & when she woke up at 6ish the husband got up (Sundays are his day) and i slept until 9 or so. she took a nap & was in a super good mood when i got up- so all was well.

believe me- i don't let her stand like this for very long. she was promptly removed.

and that was our weekend. a success? yes.
am i still exhausted? hell yes.
