so it's been 2 weeks

vacation is exhausting. seriously. anyone who says otherwise is crazy...or has a nanny to watch their children while they themselves relax on the beach whilst sipping something loaded with alcohol.

am i right?

& the week after vacation is even more exhausting because apparently ALL THINGS IN THE WORLD STOP WHEN YOU'RE AWAY! that's right- nothing is resolved or completed & it's all waiting for you when you return. yes indeed.

& then sometimes the cat pees on your bed while you're gone. THE BEST!

regardless- that is no excuse for me to neglect this here blog. that's my excuse for neglecting this here blog.

vacation

we're off to a a week up in York, ME for vacation.
i'm somewhat giddy seeing that this is our first vacation in 5 years...it's VERY needed.

dramatic toddler is dramatic

scene: alex is crying about absolutely nothing something obviously huge & i'm trying to reason with her.
brynn is attempting to feed the dog from her mouth. like a bird. yes, you read that correctly
meanwhile my best friend looks on & makes a mental note to refill her birth control prescription.

me: "alex, what is it?"
her: ::sobbing::
me: "alex, hon- you need to use your words. what's the matter?"
her: ::kicking & screaming::
me: "alex, if you can't calm down & stop kicking you're going to have to sit in a time out."
her: ::queue dramatic throwing of one's tiny self onto her back with her hands over her eyes::
her: "I JUST CAN'T DO THIS ANYMORE!"

& then we died laughing.
